Sustainability solar power Manohar Filaments

Sustainability!!

Go Solar.

Moving on with our sustainability saga, we will highlight today the efforts we are taking towards making our operations across manufacturing locations more sustainable.

A clear and evident area of improvement is power consumption, where a move towards Solar Power has been decided on by Manohar Filaments Management.

Solar power has proven environmental benefits, which leads to lower emissions of harmful, greenhouse-gases and other toxic pollutants. It is a renewable form of energy which allows for reduction of natural resource depletion.

Below excerpt from our sustainability charter!

“2) Process- While products manufactured are where all manufacturers who are engaged in apparel value chain are trying to make an improvement. Manohar recognizes that the responsibility towards a truly sustainable future begins at the products being manufactured and that there is a large scope to make internal processes and practices more sustainable in nature. Changes already made or in the process of execution in next 5 years below.

c) Solar Power- 100 KW plant by 2020 in India, Bangladesh, Vietnam to be followed, with a target of 500 KW power through Solar by the year 2025. “

Wishardisms

Leadership as I have learnt is about two things, amongst others!!

One- Be an ardent listener and understand what is being discussed, planned and debated and remain present right until the conversation needs you! Then based on your assessment choose the most plausible option and sell it first to yourself internally and then to the room you are in!! Victory and defeat is first in the mind always and then on the field!!

Two- A leader never gives up, not on ideas, not on people and certainly not on impending failure, because all a failure will do is create learning, but, it’s the perseverance that will motivate the team and lead to the elusive victory!!

After a long time!!

Sustainability water conservation community

Sustainability!!

Let’s adopt a ‘Pond’.

Today we circle back to the commitment Manohar Filaments as a company has made towards betterment of the society.

Our CSR initiatives are aimed at holistic and long term impact on the communities we are a part of.

Water conservation is one such area, globally, access to potable water and preservation of ground water are seen as major challenges, the image shared with the post displays the daily plight of people to access clean drinking water!

We, are trying to do our bit to contribute towards the water conservation drive, first in India and then across our plants globally.

Excerpt from our sustainability charter.

” Society- While being sustainable in internal process and product’s manufactured are extremely important, building a community which is sustainable both within and without the organization are of great importance to Manohar Filaments.

b) Potable water for Ladsauli Village- Manohar Filaments has adopted a pond for filtration and conservation, by 2025, the goal is to keep it potable for use by villagers. Two rain water harvesting pits are also to be installed at the pond site to save 50 K litres minimum, year on year, thereby by positively impacting the ground water levels.”
